Next Mythos-Class Model released by…?

Anthropic’s most recent official model-related activity in the past week has been about redeploying Claude Fable 5 and publishing follow-up safety details, not unveiling a new Mythos-class successor. The company says Fable 5 is globally available again, while Claude Mythos 5 remains restricted to Glasswing partners and select biology researchers under a broader trusted access program that has not yet been opened to the general public.

The release cadence also matters. Anthropic launched Fable 5 and Mythos 5 on June 9, then suspended access on June 12 because of export-control issues, and then restored Fable 5 access on July 1. That sequence suggests the company has spent the last month dealing with access, compliance, and safety rollouts, which is not the kind of pattern that usually precedes a brand-new public model launch within only a few weeks.

With only 19 days left until July 31, the key question is not whether Anthropic can move quickly, but whether it has already queued up a public-facing Mythos-class launch. The public evidence says no: the latest posts are about redeployment and safeguards, and Mythos 5 is still described as limited-access rather than broadly public. Against that backdrop, I put meaningful odds on an unexpected rollout, but not enough to justify a double-digit Yes probability above the market’s current 10.5%.
